Thank you for being a part of life for the children from Russia, Ukraine, and Belarus. If you are an adoptive parent with the child from one of our former ex USSR countries in Central North Carolina, please feel free to reach out to me so I can connect you with other parents with the similar adoption background or with an experience hosting a child.
If you need help with translations, ladies from my Russian Women Club Devichnik NC) always ready to help to the adoptive parents or hosting families. In Central North Carolina we have a few communities that work with orphanages in Russian, Ukraine and Belarus. Sometimes they are a summer hosting families, sometimes they adopt those kids or helping to find an adoptive family during their summer visit from orphanage. As an admin of the Russian speaking ladies group in North Carolina, I often hear from American families that they are surprised to hear that there such an active Russian Speaking community in Triangle NC, so I help them to get connected with adoptive or hosting community or individuals that speak their language, which helps some kids to feel more confident, secure and comfortable in a new environment. I have met only one family who adopted a kid from Armenia (living in North Carolina)..We also have a ladies groups in Charlotte and Greensboro. I will happily introduce you to their admins of the group if you are there.
P.S: Russian Speaking Community in North Carolina Research Triangle Region is approximately 10,000. That includes Raleigh, Durham, Chapel Hill, Cary, Apex, Holly Springs, and smaller cities and towns around. Charlotte has a much larger population or Slavic speakers. Greensboro Triad area has much smaller population then ours.
Thank you,
- Lilia aka Devishnik -
